Charity Coffee Morning Goes Down a Treat!

Charity Coffee Morning Goes Down a Treat!

On Friday 30thSeptember businesses and households all over the UK hosted their own Coffee Mornings to raise money for worthy charity Macmillan Cancer Support, and Reade Signs was proud to be one of them.

The staff café was transformed into a tantalising arena of delicious homemade treats, from chocolate cakes and brownies to flapjacks and cheesecakes – and even fresh scrambled eggs courtesy of MD Andy and his portable BBQ!

Not only did the creations look amazing, they tasted even better. ‘Best Baker’ award went to John’s incredible Victoria Sponge cake surrounded with chocolate and piled high with strawberries. And Steve was the proud winner of the ‘Guess the Sprinkles’ competition.

It was a great opportunity for staff to take 10 minutes out to enjoy each other’s company with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake (or two)!

Reade Signs are proud to have raised £130.75 for Macmillan – exceeding the target of doubling the amount we made last year.

Reade Signs helps inspire next generation of budding writers

Young Writers and Mentoring Charity Little Green Pig recently held a week long pop-up event at the No Walls Gallery in Brighton, encouraging budding young writers with free story-making and illustration workshops. Working alongside design agency Sherlock, Reade Signs transformed a plain and neutral space into a fun, enticing and inspiring environment for the children.

Emily Hogan, Development Manager at Little Green Pig was delighted with the end result:

“Designers Sherlock created a fantastic look and feel for the space which was based largely on the creative use of vinyls to transform the venue, and we were absolutely delighted when Reade Signs stepped in and agreed to provide these pro bono. We had tonnes of feedback on how fantastic it looked and are extremely grateful to all at Reade for making our pop up really stand out. Huge thanks from all the team at Little Green Pig!”

Following investment into our rebranded offices and showroom in May this year, our Marketing Agency Fruitful Marketing Ltd recommended 360 degree photography to showcase our investment on our website and on Google Maps.

On a bright summer morning James Taylor from Tayco360 came to our headquarters to take internal and external shots using his 360 degree camera.

Anyone can now go on a virtual 360 degree trip by selecting ‘see inside’ when searching Reade Signs on Google or on our website. Please do take the tour by clicking on the image above and see our new brand in action!

Competition winners Louise and Dylan with MD Andy Fergus Smith

Reade Signs were proud to sponsor a World Book Day art competition held at local secondary school Fernhill. Reade Signs had quite a task on their hands in judging the entries and were pleased to announce that students Dylan and Louise were the lucky winners. Their prize included a tour of the recently refurbished and rebranded Reade HQ, where they met friendly and knowledgeable staff members from the Sales and Marketing, Design Studio and Production Teams.

The Studio Team worked alongside Dylan and Louise to guide their artwork through the design and production process and demonstrated the numerous solutions that can be offered to clients. The students then watched their artwork take shape and form as it came out of the large Vutek printer on Foamex ready to take home.

“We are extremely grateful to Reade Signs’ sponsorship and support – they really did go ‘above and beyond’.

New branding ‘stands’ out from the football crowd at The Shots

New branding 'stands' out from the football crowd at The Shots

Reade Signs have been busy upgrading the sponsorship signage throughout Aldershot Town Football Club’s EBB Stadium ready for the first game of the season.

As sponsors of the South Stand, it was a perfect opportunity for Reade to proudly present its rebrand with signage across the length of the stand, and support other sponsors including Eagle Radio, Wellesley Grainger, Muller Milk, Gnergy Ltd, Hi Speed, Knights Foundation, R-Collard and ELM Group. This included a complete rebrand of the Patrons Lounge incorporating branded wallpaper and stunning acrylic signage, bold pitch boards, stand signs and banners.

Now the new football season is in full swing spectators and players alike can enjoy the game surrounded by fresh, clear and excellent signage provided by Reade Signs.

Reade supports Berkeley Foundation with karting event at Sandown Park

The rain didn’t hinder the spirits of the Reade Team when they joined Berkeley Southern on a Karting Event at Sandown Park yesterday to support the Berkeley Foundation.

The event consisted of a 3 hour endurance race comprising 29 teams of up to 6 drivers.

The race proved to be quite a challenge to the Reade Team that included Andy Fergus-Smith, Roy Cheesmann, David Gerrard, Adriaan Wijsveld and Adam Grist.

The wet and stormy weather added extra drama to an already very exciting and enjoyable event with all but one of the Reade Team spinning off the track at one time or another!

All profits raised were in aid of charity MERU, who build assistive equipment for children and young people with disabilities.

Brighton charity thrilled with donated signage from Reade!

by: Kirsty Charlton 10/05/2016 We at Reade Signs are well known for our charitable efforts, donations and contributions, and when ‘The Sussex Beacon’ – a Brighton-based charity that provides care and support for men, women and families living with HIV - underwent a rebrand, we were happy to support them by donating signage incorporating their new logo. Simon Dowe, CEO of the charity is delighted with the signage, commenting “many people have already commented on how fabulous the signs look, both outside and in our reception area…it is only though the generosity of people like you that we are able to continue our work”. We are very pleased to have provided the Sussex Beacon with their rebranding signage as part of our #reade35 challenge, celebrating 35 years of successful trading by supporting 35 community based initiatives over the past year. Rebrand launch party – 35 years in the making!

Rebrand launch party - 35 years in the making!

Last Wednesday 27th April we were very excited to host valued clients, suppliers, business partners and Rushmoor Borough Council’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jacqui Vosper, at the Reade Signs launch event as we celebrated 35 successful years in the industry, revealed our new company identity, and showcased our dazzling new showroom.

After guests had mingled and joined guided tours around the Reade Signs factory, CEO Andy Reade started off the evening’s speeches, acknowledging the efforts of the team at Reade Signs who have helped the company not only survive but thrive through two recessions and the more recent credit crunch. He captured the essence of Reade Signs, and summarised why Reade Signs has been so consistently highly regarded over the years, explaining “we are big enough to deliver, but small enough that the company still has a family feel about it”.

Managing Director Andy Fergus-Smith proudly announced that through sponsorships, donations, and gifted signage over the last year, the Reade Signs Team has raised over £25,000 for local and national charities, as a result of the ‘Reade 35’ initiative that was implemented this time last year.

Guest speaker Jonathon Clark, founding partner of top 20 UK agency ‘Bright Blue Day’ and visiting fellow and Board Member of Bournemouth University, illustrated the importance and impact of good design, branding and signage.

Guests got to see this for themselves. The new Reade Signs brand identity is now a strong presence, and the buzz from the launch event continues on!
