Beaufort Park is a new development on the site of the former RAF East Camp in Hendon, north west London.
We were approached directly by the client St. George Homes to manufacture and install a site wide external wayfinding scheme to replace old signs which no longer reflected the exciting, vibrant new place that Beaufort Park has become.
The new scheme comprised bold ‘aircraft wing’ designs (for the totem signs) in an homage to the famous Hendon RAF base that the site had grown out of. Hendon is widely known as the cradle of aviation with links back to the first aviators, pre-WW1 and the new signs have helped hugely in placemaking, and the identity of the area.
Included in our scope were directional finger posts and built-up illuminated letters ‘Beaufort Park’ around the entrance to the developments marketing suite.
Designers, Air Design were extremely pleased with the faithful interpretation of their concepts into finished wayfinding signs and commented:
The team at Reade Signs understood completely, the principles behind the design brief and manufactured and installed a high-quality product, the client was delighted with the result
